This family has two small children and a lot of desired uses for their postage-stamp-size yard. The challenge was how to work some entertaining space, including a hot tub, into an area that had been taken over with play sets and blow up pools-all the while trying to provide a sense of privacy from neighboring two-story houses right next to them on both sides.

This couple wanted to make the most of their very sunny and not very private back yard. The plan: create two separate spaces, the first a more enclosed and private area for entertaining and the second a raised-bed gardening space with a refreshing water feature.
